Waverly Woods Ladies Golf League
Rules Overview
(revised 2021)
Welcome to the Waverly Woods Ladies Golf League. USGA Rules apply except as modified by the Local Rules provided below. You must hole out on every hole.
LOCAL RULES
BALL AT REST IN A FAIRWAY DIVOT: A ball that comes to rest in a fairway divot may be rolled out o the divot to a point that is not nearer the hole. This applies only to the fairway on the hole you are currently playing.
REFORESTATION AREAS: All areas of the course marked with white signs that say reforestation project or forest retention area are to be played as red penalty areas. However, because these are environmentally protected areas, you may not search for your ball in these areas or hit your ball from these areas. Tall grass areas are not played as red penalty areas unless the area is marked with a red stake or white reforestation sign.
HAZARD ON HOLE 17: For speed of play, the league has established a drop area on the green side of the yellow penalty area in front of the green. It will be the area to the right of the cart path as you cross the bridge. If you hit your ball into the penalty area, you may use one of the options available for yellow penalty areas, or you may use the drop area with a one stroke penalty.
COUNTING PUTTS: All strokes taken on the putting green will be counted as putts. A ball is on the putting green when any part of it touches the putting green.
PACE OF PLAY: To be held up by a preceding group is unpleasant. It can be avoided by simple consideration by each individual. Here are suggestions for maintaining a proper pace:
1. Play ready golf.
2. Kee[ close behind the group playing ahead of you.
3. Clear each hole as promptly as possible, for the benefit of those who follow.
4. Record scores at the next tee box.
